Jamie: Snow is here, which means that if you're a snowboarder like I am, here are three favorite exercises you need to do to make sure your body and muscles are ready to go.

Jamie: Number one. We're going to take a kettlebell here, but that can be any weight or heavy dumbbell for you. I'm going to do a side lunge and bring it down and back together. Here's the key piece. If you think about snowboarding, snowboarding is a lot of front-to-back edge control. So if you watch, I'm coming into a side lunge. This thing is straight, and I'm drifting that forward. I want to drift that kettlebell forward so that the counterbalance is sinking me into the heels. That's number one.

Jamie: Number two. Anyone who's been out at the start of the season knows how bad those calves can burn. So we're going to do a calf raise right now. All I'm going to do is hang one foot off the edge of a stair and boom, boom, all the way up, all the way down. Really burn one out and then switch. Go back and forth until it feels really good.

Jamie: Next is going to be some power jumping stuff. Sometimes I need to be able to quickly move my feet to get my edges in front of me, in case there's someone in front of me. So we're going to go from here again. Hop, back, step. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Easy to do, you can do it anywhere. Minimal equipment. Get it done. Do yourself a favor, you'll be glad you did. Still my three. If you only do one, make it the calf raise: it's the easiest to do at home, and it answers the burn most riders feel on day one.
